Mechanical Interfacing - Set-Up Tools
The Set-up tool insures alignment
of the test head and handler prior to the final docking procedure. A
Set-Up Tool consist of two functional sides. One side presents itself
to the test head as though it where the handler or prober and the opposite
side presents itself to the handler or prober as though it were the
test head.
The
function of the Set-up tool is to allow the operator to quickly verify
that the matching segments of the electrical interface are correctly
and precisely oriented within the test head and handler/prober. It is
therefore necessary that each of these segments include positional marking
features like PC edge connectors, paddle boards and guide pins. These
types of features are referenced by the set-up tool to properly locate
the position of each segment with respect to the guide pins and guide
bushings of the head docking assemblies.
